Project to Provide Much-Needed Access to Fresh Foods in Low-Income Community
HRV recently closed on a financing structure using $9 million of its New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) allocation to help finance the construction of a new Kroger grocery store in Columbus, OH. The NMTC deal will help Kroger replace an existing, obsolete store with a new 56,726 sq. ft. store serving the low-income community near the North Side of Columbus. The new store will include a vast selection of nutritional offerings, including fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh fish and seafood as well as fresh meats. It will also include a much larger pharmacy.
